Jamaica Teachers’ Association Visit – 15 July 2025
The Singapore Teachers’ Union welcomed a 16-member delegation from the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, led by President Mark Smith and Secretary-General Mark Nicely!
As part of their four-day Learning Journey, the delegation visited STU, where our General Secretary, Mike Thiruman, engaged in meaningful conversations by sharing insights, perspectives and experiences that strengthen our shared commitment to education.
Together, we learn. Together, we grow.
Thank you, Mr Justin Arul Pierre, Principal of St. Joseph’s Institution (SJI), for the warm and inspiring welcome extended to the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) delegation!
Through Mr Pierre’s sharing, the JTA delegation gained valuable insights into how SJI nurtures future-ready students through lifelong learning, integrity, and service. The mission to empower youth within a Lasallian community to learn how to learn and live shapes students into individuals of integrity. The ideal Josephian — someone who lives with integrity, serves others, and contributes meaningfully to society — truly reflects the school’s ethos.
This space was created for you—the dedicated educators shaping the future, one lesson at a time.
