Some members in my school will be transferred to other schools. Should I inform STU?
Yes, Delegates should keep STU updated on any member who joins or leaves the school so that STU will have an up-to-date membership record.
Why is there an additional $2 deduction in members’ July payroll?
The $2.00 deduction in July is for the group insurance called NTUC Group Insurance for Trade Union Members (GIFT). All STU members who are 65 years and below are automatically covered against death and partial/total permanent disability of up to $40,000. This policy covers members and their spouses up to 73 years of age (depending on the length of membership) and with at least 6 months of continuous membership.
A member in my school has passed away. What should I do?
STU members with a membership tenure of at least six months will be entitled to coverage under the NTUC GIFT. Delegates should update STU and assist to hand the NTUC GIFT claim form to the family of the deceased.
