Who can join STU?<\/p>\n

Education Officers, Allied Educators (Teaching & Learning), Direct-Hire Teachers of independent schools and government-aided schools, MOE Kindergarten teachers, Flexi-Adjunct Teachers, Contract Adjunct Teachers and NIE trainees.<\/p>\n

“How do I refer a non-member to join STU?”<\/p>\n

You may hand your colleague the STU membership form or direct him\/her to this link<\/a>. Check out the Member-Get-Member\u00a0scheme<\/a> when you refer more than 3 members to STU.<\/p>\n

I lost my membership card. What should I do?<\/p>\n

Please email your Name, NRIC Number, School\/MOE Branch to STU at stu@stu.org.sg<\/a>. The first replacement card is free of charge and the new card will be posted to you within two weeks.<\/p>\n

My colleague already holds an NTUC card. How should I transfer his\/her membership to STU?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

First, ascertain if your colleague is an NTUC\u00a0member. If he\/she is holding on to the Silver\u00a0NTUC Plus! Card, he\/she is an NTUC member.\u00a0Inform STU of your colleague\u2019s name and NRIC\u00a0number so that he\/she will be reflected as an\u00a0STU member in the NTUC membership system\u00a0to enjoy both NTUC and STU membership\u00a0benefits<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

What are the benefits of STU membership?<\/p>\n

STU members enjoy privileges extended to NTUC members. Members may refer to www.ntuc.org.sg<\/a> for the full slate of NTUC\u00a0membership benefits, and here<\/a> for STU membership benefits.<\/p>\n

Some members in my school will be transferred to other schools. Should I inform STU?<\/p>\n

Yes, Delegates should keep STU updated on any member who joins or leaves the school so that STU will have an up-to-date membership record.<\/p>\n

Why is there an additional $2 deduction in members\u2019 July payroll?<\/p>\n

The $2.00 deduction in July is for the group insurance called NTUC Group Insurance for Trade Union Members (GIFT). All STU members who are 65 years and below are automatically covered against death and partial\/total permanent disability of up to $40,000. This policy covers members and their spouses up to 73 years of age (depending on the length of membership) and with at least 6 months of continuous membership.<\/p>\n

A member in my school has passed away. What should I do?<\/p>\n

STU members with a membership tenure of at least six months will be entitled to coverage under the NTUC GIFT. Delegates should update STU and assist to hand the NTUC GIFT claim form to the family of the deceased.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
