The National Delegates\u2019 Conference (NDC) is held once in four years, where Delegates elect the Central Council and approve the budget for the new term of office. The Ordinary Delegates\u2019 Conference (ODC) is held in the middle of each four-year term. As elected representatives, Delegates represent the members\u2019 interests at the ODC and NDC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">STU also conducts regular Delegates\u2019 Dialogue Sessions for Delegates to be updated on latest workplace matters and to provide them an avenue to feedback members\u2019 concerns to STU.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-472a07e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"472a07e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">FOSTERING RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN STU AND MEMBERS<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-183b12b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"183b12b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Delegates are the vital link between STU and its members at schools\/MOE branches. STU informs all Delegates of upcoming activities on a regular basis. STU also writes to Delegates to inform them of STU\u2019s position on issues affecting members. Delegates may contact STU to seek clarifications and provide feedback on matters concerning members. Delegates may also refer members with individual queries or concerns to STU.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d0aadc0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d0aadc0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">CONDUCTING DELEGATES\u2019 ELECTION<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-320a7b1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"320a7b1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>STU Delegates are elected on a biennial basis by STU members in the schools\/MOE branches. The number of Delegates to be elected is determined in accordance with the number of members in the school\/MOE branch as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Between 3-15 members &#8211; one delegate<\/li>\n<li>Between 16-30 members &#8211; two delegates<\/li>\n<li>Between 31-45 members &#8211; three delegates<\/li>\n<li>Between 46-60 members &#8211; four delegates<\/li>\n<li>61 members and above &#8211; five delegates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To nominate and elect Delegates to represent them in their schools\/MOE branches is the\u00a0right of every STU member. Delegates should communicate clearly to members in their\u00a0schools\/MOE branches on the details of the election. In addition, Delegates will also preside over the election.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9dc5022 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9dc5022\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">PAST DELEGATES\u2019 EVENTS<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d45093a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d45093a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>STU Delegates\u2019 Seminar (Feb 2017)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>STU\u2019s Advisor Heng Chee How shared on Tripartism and how the Labour Movement is responding to the needs arising from disruptions at the workplace and a changing workforce. Delegates also learnt about Teacher Wellness initiatives, legal obligations of teachers, and STU\/NTUC membership benefits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>STU 4th National Delegates\u2019 Conference (Jul 2017)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>STU Delegates discussed the challenges and issues that our teachers face today. The Delegates agreed to focus on Teacher\u2019s Well-being as a key agenda for the union.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>STU New Year Reception for Delegates (Jan 2017\/2018)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The New Year Reception was organised as a platform for Delegates to mix and mingle. During the 2017 New Year Reception, the Delegates discussed about The Mentor publication and concluded that digitalisation was the way forward.
