“How can we prevent the use of communication devices to cheat in exam halls?”
This was one of the design questions posed to Starhub during an exploratory discussion with Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board. Mr Michael Oon, Lead Futurist at Starhub, shared many innovative solutions spanning from smart lamp post, cyber security to robots in hotels. Having adopted the design thinking approach to many of the challenges that enterprises face, Starhub taps on its core knowledge on connectivity and information technology to overcome the challenges.
Participants on the Learning Journey were also introduced to the base stations that sent signals to mobile phones and briefed on the company’s plan to upgrade existing stations to support 5G network. Insights about the tedious process of laying underwater fibre cables and backup systems allowed STU members to appreciate the luxury of high speed internet that users enjoy.
