37th ASEAN Council of Teachers (ACT) + 1 Convention

STU was proud to be part of the 37th ASEAN Council of Teachers (ACT) + 1 convention held at Putrajaya, Malaysia. The theme of the convention was ‘Leading the Future of Education’.

STU Central Councillors, Mr Mr Mohamed Salleh Bin Md Nooh, Ms Nur Farahin Binte Salleh and Mr Kai Low represented Singapore for the Panel Discussion, Parallel Session and Country Report sharing respectively. We advocated collectively with conviction the need for educational technology (EdTech) innovations to be complemented with adequate and timely teacher professional development: fundamentally, it cannot be the case that teachers are perceived to be replaceable by technology.

The 37th ACT+1 Convention culminated with the signing of the resolution to bring about greater educational outcomes in the region by leveraging hybrid learning and Edtech.

We congratulate the NUTP Malaysia for a highly successful convention and we wish the Khurusapha, The Teacher’s Council of Thailand (Thailand), all the best for the upcoming 38th ACT+1 Convention.
